...UPEACE has a clear commitment to building a world where peace and gender equality prevail, human rights are respected, and all individuals have access to education.

The University for Peace focuses its efforts on educating people in the field of peace and conflict studies. Our student and alumni community is made up of graduates from more than 90 countries. These alumni decided to work towards building a better world for present and future generations. They decided to leave their countries for eleven months to learn about peace and how to achieve it. Our alumni are now working for non-governmental organizations, United Nations bodies, academia, media, governments, and the private sector.

For almost 30 years UPEACE has been working "with a clear determination to provide humanity with an international institution of higher education for peace and with the aim of promoting among all human beings the spirit of understanding, tolerance and peaceful coexistence, to stimulate cooperation among peoples and to help lessen obstacles and threats to world peace and progress."
